Why are you still sitting there. You should be in the garage taking care of that tire

I can't believe this post. Go out and load it up, put a knife in it, but do something to get him off of it before he gets KILLED. Geez, the cheapest insurance you can have is good tires. Time is here to end the vote. Take some action, and I wouldn't even bother apologizing. He ought to be thanking you, or handing you the blade to do it with.... DO NOT LET HIM RIDE IT ANY MORE. Do you have a trailer, a pickup, anything to move that pig. Just load it up and haul it off if necessary.

He then tells me that the stepson is off work today and is “taking care of it”. What timing eh? I think it was the karma of sharing the situation with the forum. I’ll be making a trip out to the garage this evening to check it out. Hopefully no nails or screws will be involved.
Please keep us posted! A pic of the new tire would be very satisfying...

Oh, and I just bought two new Dunlop Elite 3's shipped to my door for less than $210.00. DennisKirk.com or RonAyers.com. Great buys on tires.

Pictures are best proof. I wish I took some showing the following, to let you use!

My brother asked me if I was doing burnouts... I said of course not. He pointed at rear tire, it had no tread.

I drove home (40 miles) and looked at tire.... some cords were showing.

Next day, I drove to indy to get tire replaced (30 miles). cords were showing ALL the way around the tire (worse than the pic in BM1000's pic above).

Shop manger took the wheel off, and BOUNCED it hard on the ground.... the tire blew out!

NEVER again!

For those that say you hope he matures.... He might, if he lives beyond his next ride!

Experience is the best teacher.... but in life or death decisions, sometimes the inexperienced need an outside influence. Don't let him ride until it is replaced! Tell him if he dies, you'll feel bad... but if he wrecks and kills some innocent person, all you will feel is shame, for not stopping him!

*EDITED to add that I took too much time typing all this up!*

Oops. Sorry Diane. Changed my post to say "Mom".
