I am surprised at the size of some of the first bikes here, mine was a Honda 50 from my older brother when I was 12 or 13.

First bike was a 1967 Kawasaki 250 Street Scrambler.
Next was a 1972 Honda CL 350. About everyone I know had a 350 Honda.

Mine was a 2005 Yamaha V Star 1100 Classic. It was a good bike to learn on. Not as heavy as the Harley's I have ridden. Bought it used & I didn't have a motorcycle license so a friend of mine drove it home for me. Drove it around the neighborhood for a few days, took the written test along with the driving test & got the license. Sold it after I bought a 2010 Road King new in 2011.

Mine was a 1972 Honda SL100 street bike converted to a half-tailed dirt bike when I was about 12. I beat the snot out of that thing.

1971 Honda SL350.
When I met my wife (in '73) it was my only mode of transportation. Picked up my wife for a date. Her mom said "No Way!" Through me the keys to a brand new bright blue Caddy Sedan De'ville! Sold the bike and bought a car the following week. Truth is I was tired of showing up for college classes soaking wet anyway.
Bike free until 2005 then a Road King Custom and now a Super Glide Custom.

Here's what the first looked like:
