1981 Yamaha SR250 for $450 cash, back in 1998. Rode that thing everywhere for years, sold it to my friend and it became his first bike too. I really enjoyed how small and light it was, while still riding two-up to the summit of mountains.

A blue Honda CB100. Rode it all 4 years I was at UCLA. It was great for zipping to class from the frat house or for riding across town to visit my parents. Couldn't do the freeway on it, of course. So I learned how to transit LA via surface streets. Who knew that Sunset Blvd. turns into Valley Blvd.?

After that, a Honda CB650 bought in 1980. That was a good bike excepting that it set too high and I could not really "flat foot it" at stops. The bike did not really fit me well.

Now I have my XL1200T Sportster Superlow, which fits my 5'8" height beautifully. This is the bike for me! Love my Harley!
