If you really want to get into it without spending to much money, you might consider an older Kawasaki KZ1000 rig. There were a lot of High Performance parts made for the J motor which was a reliable work horse in it's day.

You could always find a used drag bike on Ebay or Trader Online.

I'm a professional Sportsman level Drag Racer, and one of the Hosts on Speed Scene Live.
It's a Internet provided TV show located at SpeedSceneRacing.com and it is free to watch.
You can go on anytime and visit the archives page to watch a past show.

Check it out, as it will provide a lot of info for you that is Drag racing related.
We had a guy on this week that is racing a factory Harley from the Dealer.
It goes mid nines in the quarter mile.

A friend of mine has a suzuki gs1100 with a turbo that will make 325 horses at the rear wheel, he is asking 4 k for it and i know he has over 10k in the bike... . the crankshaft alone stainless steel crank ran 2k...he has a cerriano front end that you can pump up and raise 2 inchs and a very long extended swingarm... I busted a busas butt with it at the airport last month ,the guy was so mad he was stuttering... it will beat a busa in a wink of the eye plus it handles 5 times better than a busa...(a very sad handling bike)

if your interested PM me for pics and all the details of the bike...

If your serious, I would go with a twin cam Dyna.

If you like showing off with a Bagger, check out my website www.hemrickperformance.com or see my videoes on You Tube.
Search: "hemrickperformance".

My 2007 Ultra has busted a lot Crotch Rocket Butts.
