Default Motorcycle Jack?

I am looking to buy a motorcycle jack so I can do my repairs on my bike and the wifes. What type or kind does everyone use? Everyone has a favorite. Who has the best record? All answers will be looked into. Thanks In Advance, Taz

I have a J&S Jack info at www.jsjacks.com Great product and a great company to do business with. You may think they are pricey, but its a high quality product made and backed up by a US company. I do all my maintenance, cleaning, and even do winter storage on this jack.

I'm a fan of J&S jacks. They are a high quality American made jack with a good reputation for service. They run about $350. They are rock solid and I never have any worries that my bike is going to fall off.

The Sears yellow jack is also quite popular by users here and priced much lower. It will work for you as will most of the similar models at Harbor Freight or Pep Boys. Depends on how much you're willing to spend and what sort of quality you want. The J&S doesn't require straps and doesn't rock at all. You can actually climb up on the bike.

J&S for me too. Solid, decent price, performs with no surprises.

If I were to do a ton of work on bikes, I might go with the J&S too. I don't do that much, so can't justify the cost. I got the Harbor Frieght jack on sale for $60 or something like that. I saw one in the Schuck's Auto last week for about the same. I've had my Sporty, and a friend's V-rod on the jack with zero problems. Very solid. I ran a tie down strap over the seat.

I have both the Sears Yellow and the J&S jack. I like the J&S a lot better as it is much more stable. Unfortunately it cost double what the Sears Yellow did...Shipping weight on my J&S was listed at 85# if that tells you anything.

Default Sears Jack

I recently bought the red Sears bike/ATV Jack. It has a handle and castering wheels that turns the jack into a dolly. The dolly function allows me to move the bike around my garage and to rotate the bike 180 degrees to help with exiting the garage. The jack also allows me to store the bike in a tight corner in my garage; a corner that, without the dolly function, I would not have been accessable.

By the way, the jack/dolly has tie down rings to secure the bike to the base of the jack.

The jack was a good price at $90!
