Default ear wind noise with scull cap

For some reason my ears have become very sensative to the wind noise my 1/2 helmet is creating. I dont want to switch to a 3/4 or a full so does anybody know of something made to cover my ears or deflect the wind even if I have to buy a new helmet.

Earplugs maybe? I have lost 40% hearing but alas, I am old! I like wearing my half helmet. Are you experiencing ear pain?

Those simple foam/ruber ear plugs work great.

I use the same type of ear plugs, especially when it is cold. They make a huge difference and on my bike I can actually hear the radio better with them in on a windy day.

Another vote for earplugs. You may even consider going to a hearing center and having custom molded plugs made. Those don't even feel like they're in.

Cheers!

check out helmets like the ones from carbonfiberhelmets.com... They have an option to put flaps over the ears... It does not look as dorky as it sounds. The only downside I have seen to them is that they are not removable.

BTW... I do not work for them or anything... I do not even own one... yet. =) They seem to have a good product and everyone around here raves about them. And the ear panels may be what you are looking for.

You would be amazed at how much less fatigued you get when you wear plugs on a longer haul - They do make a big difference - I have 45% loss myself so now I am nursing what I have left!

Careful about hearing loss --- I hear that you get hearing aids from too much phone sex[sm=happybounce.gif]

I get most of the wind noise on my Dyna - which has a smaller wind screen than my Softail Heritage. If the ear flaps and ear plugs don't work for you, try looking into a larger wind screen.

The cheapest way for me to take care of the wind noise in the ears was to wear ear plugs. I use the molded kind that I also use at work but I can also get the foam ones pretty cheap. Foam ones are the cheapest way to go, but the molded ones are great because they conform to your entire inner ear. Either way, they will take care of your problems with the wind. Good luck
