Mobil 1 V-Twin at Advance Auto
#21
Same here...I read in an oil analysis forum here, that anyone who tries to tell you there is a significant difference between Mobile 1 15W50 and the Mobile 1 V Twin to warrant that kind of $$ difference is a snake oil salesman.

Thanks for the info. Stopped by during lunch and bought 5 qts of V-Twin and an m102 filter. The filter will work on a twin cam bike just fine. I beleive there is an article on this forum with several different filters that will work with the TC 88.

Well,
Thanks for posting this........I started looking for the oil yesterday or whenever I read about it and the first Advance was out of the oil...it was on a seperate shelf with Valvoline mc oil instead of with all of the car oil......Since the shelf was empty, I asked the guy to go look in the back.......
He had called the manager to look for some and I could see them looking through cases on the floor in the back through the battery racks and it looked like they had found some....while they were looking, I went out and got the flyer I had printed and brought it in and showed it to the guy
he took it back to the back to the manager and then came back and said they couldn't honor it because the deal was only good for regular Mobil 1 not V-Twin.......I said that wasn't what I had heard but he said it was no good.......I said what does it matter if you don't have any anyway???? and the guy said oh yah......we're out of it, there is a national shortage on Mobil 1 right now......yah B.S......there's a national shortage so they're running a promotion on it.......duh.......******'
Then I called 3 other stores in the area and one was gone and two didn't carry motorcycle oil.....the next one said yah....we got it....I said-ya got it or you CARRY it....no, my name is Andy and we have it.....sure enough, I get over there 15 minutes later and guess what??? they don't have any.....it's VALVOLINE DIPWAD!!!!
So today I call another store a little farther away...same scenario...they have it...I said before I drive over there HOW many do you have ....they say nine...close enough, I'll get a regular one to go with it....they actually have 10 on the shelf....they must have bred and had a baby the same size before i got there.....the chic says it's not on sale after I show her the add.....I say...that's ok....just put one in the register with the number and try it.....
but we don't carry Mobil 1 Harley oil filters so we can't do it....that's ok, here's the number for my truck...you have those.....RIGHT THERE......please put them in the register (it's another day, I still haven't run out of "nice" yet)......she puts them in and LO and Behold...the thing rings up just like y'all said it would.....I pay her and say thanks while she bags them up with a dumb look on her face.......I got 10 quarts of 20-50 V-Twin and two Mobil One filters for my truck for a total of $64.69....I saved $55.90 on the deal....................
For what it's worth, I always use Wix filters on the bike anyway and I don't think there's one bit of difference between the regular Mobil 1 and the V-Twin anyway, but the V-Twin was $9 dollars plus regular price so I got it.............
The worst part is the idiots you have to deal with at ANY retail establishment these days.....and I go around wondering all the time why anyone would vote for Oblamalama....the last two days explains it..............
Thanks Again!!!!
