I believe this is a national promotion. I heard about it on another cycle furum. The person who posted the original message was in Kansas City. The deal is listed on the page 4 of the advance auto flyer. Here's a link: http://advanceauto.shoplocal.com/adv...7&pagenumber=4

They did have motorcycle oil filters but none (at least for my bike) with the Mobil 1 name on them. The promotion is 5 qts mobil 1 oil and a mobil 1 filter, so I just bought filters for the cages.

One more thing: I had to ask for the V-Twin oil as it wasn't kept with all the other oil in the large display in the back of the store. The clerk seemed surprised that it rang up with the promo price.

Same thing here in SC at Advance. They don't have it out on the shelf but most of them do carry it in the back. I found out by accident when I went in the back with one of the counter guys trying to match up a part. Looked over on the back shelf and there it was.

When I asked the parts guy why it was in the back, and don't you think you'd sell more if people knew you had it, he told me it was to keep cagers from putting it in their cars. Go figure.

I will absolutely check this out on the way home today.

Question oil filter

Hmm I wonder if they'd order the mobil 1 oil filter for our bikes. Has anyone asked.

I am going to check at my local Advance Auto store, last time they said they didn't get the Mobil 1 motorcycle oil, but I did get my Mob.1 oil filter there. The one that fits Harleys is their most popular filter they said, it fits a lot of cars too. I think it's a M-102.

Went today to buy cage Mobil 1 they had none did not no if they be getting any in. They said Mobil was in short supply. But all there syn would be same sale price as Mob 1. So I bought Royal Purple never used it before. Chip Fuse puts it in his cars must be good. He recomends Mothers wax & polish I like Mothers so the RP must be good. Just messing around. Thought the Royal Purple was a good deal for less then 5 bucks a qt. Any way thanks for the heads up.

not enough difference in additives between Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 V-Twin to warrant the extra cost. I put 68K on my 01 RK using the standard Mobil 1 15W50 and when i replaced the cams with gear drives there was virtually no wear and my chain tensioners lasted 56K miles.

Another good deal can be found at O'Rileys, Lucas Full Synthetic Motorcycle oil, and a Wix filter (chrome or black) are carried there, and way cheaper than HD Syn. oil and filters. Excellent products, useually cheaper than any other Syn. Motorcycle oil that I've found. Bike runs great / cool on it, I think its as good or better than any oil on the market. The Wix filters quality speaks for its self, just pick one up and look at it compared to any other filter, you can see and feel the difference in quality.
