My CU refuses to look at my 83. Too old they said. What a bunch of A-holes. They did pick up my RK loan without fuss, and saved me $35 monthly, and shortened the loan considerably.

Well had 5 years left on mine (was a 6 originally...I was being cheap at the time), and got it down to 4 now.

It's definitely a buyers market right now. Not only buying bikes, but buying $$ as well. Especially if you've got good credit numbers.

Wouldn't a bike be considered "used" in a refinance deal and therefore fall into higher interest rates as opposed to "new"? I tryed this with a car a few years ago and was quoted the used rate even though I was the original owner.

I don't know about the "new/used" thing as I've never owned anything new, but my bank of 17 years was willing to give me the "great" rate of 9.5% for 4 years on my '96 Springer.
A local Credit Union rolled out the red carpet when I went in and gave me 6% for 3 1/2 years. I don't know how good that is for the rest of the country but it does pay to shop around.
