Default Mirrors, Flat or Convex Glass?

Looking at some mirrors that are available both ways for the Heritage. I have Split Visions on my Std. but I'm looking for a different design. I'm leaning towards convex but the Kury Magnums Std. length stems are only available in flat glass. With my bars the std length stems are perfect. The Magnum long stem mirrors are available in both flat or convex but only flat glass in the std length. I can order seperate parts to get what I want but it cost a bit more. So which glass do you prefer & why?

Flat. Less distortion, not used to the convex....

Flat. Got a swivel head(my head!). I have covex/flat combos on my truck, but I need both there. My $.02

I was under the impression that factory mirrors are convex and include the warning text. I had flat glass mirrors from Arlen Ness and the reduced field of view is significant. In my opinion the more you see the better....

I believe you're right about stock mirrors being convex. Supposedly convex is less affected from engine vibration while idling or stopped.

Nothin but the convex for me anymore.. Had some Arlen Ness once also.. Cut out to much of my rear vision.. I as well ride not only with my wife behind me on my right because I prefer traffic side and she likes ditch side.. I also lead a pack of riders quite often.. I need to see her as well as I need to see the pack I'm leading when doing that and can't with flat mirrors..

I put on Kuryakin Signal mirrors, and got the flat glass, which I prefer, to know the actual size and closeness of vehicles behind. The directions did state that convex is less subject to vibration distortion, but I see fine out of the ones I have.

I don't know why but this reminds me of a joke Johnny Carson told years ago. He said he had a mirror mounted above his bed with the warning "Objects in mirror are larger than they appear".

I have restricted neck movement as a result of surgery. If it were not for split vision mirrors, don't think I could saftley ride again.

My vote is for the split vision.
