Trading in my sportster
#22
Yes, after one season, I have out grown my sportster. I love it very much but find that my weekends have been filled with day long rides and the sportster just isn't comfortable enough. Soooo, I am thinking of trading her in for a road king custom and wanted to know how many of you own one and what you might have to say about them. I would also like to see your pics with ideas on differnt handlebars. Thank you Deb D.
I'm glad you are going for the RK Custom. You're going to like the best of both worlds...comfort and handling of a touring bike, and the ability to enjoy the wind and warmth of summer or put on your windshield when it's cooler.
Go ape girl! 14" - 18" would be good!! CL

I don't have an RK, but another comment to add, for consideration. I just (a week ago) traded in my Nightster after a year, for a new Street Bob. I absolutely LOVE this bike and am glad I made the switch. I actually am more confident on this bigger bike than I was on the Sporty. I figure I can do whatever I want with it, and even add bags and a windshield for longer trips. The big thing for me was I love the styling, but also it FITS me. I am only a bit under 5' 4", and a lot of the bigger bikes I have a problem with the height and width (unless I want to sink a lot of money into lowering them, getting a new seat, etc.).
Definitely try different bikes if you are able! Then make your decision.

I don't know what I'm going to get after I pay off my Sportster. I do know one thing, I'll never trade or sell my Sportster. there will always be one of my daughters to ride the Sportster if they want, which I know they would.
