Kuryakyn Informer Calibration problem
#11
I need help in calibrating my kuryakyn fuel/battery gauge
I read all your post on the different ways to calibrate, but it still won't work. All it did was flash the empty, and full at the same time, and went back to the original settings. It never cycle through. Also there are two leds on when I start, and when the calibration green goes out, there is still a second led that stays on...is this normal? need help..I tried for hours....thanks

I finally binned mine as it decided to recalibrate itself whilst I was driving down a tree lined road on a sunny day going from bright sun light to shade - WTF!!!
Gone back to a flush fit HD fuel gauge and gas cap.

Mine re-calibrated when I was pulling into the garage from the bright sunlight. I re-calibrated it a couple of times before I finally just left it alone. It was off enough that I ran out of gas on a trip. It's no fun pushing a 900 pound bike on the side of a road with a bad foot.
I now use the trip meter to keep track of the gas in the tank.

I also get the red and green LED flash. I have had the gauge for almost a year and still haven't found out what the problem is.

I just emailed Kuryakyn, they responded back within five minutes, saying that there must be less than half a gallon in the tank. I have about one gallon in the tank now. I'll run it down tomorrow and will try again. I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress.

I just installed mine in the '07 Heritage, and I'm having problems calibrating it. But after reading all this, and trying to do it under an over garage light, I'm thinking I'll roll it out in the dark and use a good flashlight. And I emptied the tank, then put a quart of gas in it. When I turn the switch on,it flashes the single red, which would be about right, so what are the chances it doesn't need calibrated anyway?
