Actually all 4 of them are most likely 88". The only way for the 06 models to be 96" would be with an S&S upgrade. So either the 06 SuperGlides are 88", or they are really 2007 models with the 96". The Wide Glide still has the least miles of the group, the customized paint job, and the most accessories.

I'd go with the one that feels the best. I almost got a WideGlide, then I discovered the new Dyna FATBOB. The WG is a better cruiser with the 21" front wheel. If you plan on riding hard and fast, get the SG and upgrade the engine to a Jims 120 or something like that. The red WG's do look more traditional though. Hmm, just get the WG.

I was thinking of getting the Wide Glide myself, and test rode it last night. It ran a little hesitant but strong. The sound was good, but the vibration at idle was enough to make my teeth rattle. I couldn't keep my hands on the handlebars it was so bad. I can't imagine riding it around town like that. I was thinking it was the aftermarket pipes and maybe it wasn't re-jetted correctly? The vibration seemed to be ok while at higher rpm, but I can't seem to see myself enjoying the bike with that much vibration.

Any thoughts?

The only difference I have noticed with 96 and 88 is the 96 uses more fuel.

I agree with the above. As far as 5 or 6 speeds, I've had both and there just Isn't that much difference. The final drive in the trans is still 1-1.

The 96" motors will offer more power but in all honesty the 6 speed isn't a great benefit unless you do a lot of highway riding over 60 mph. I would always prefer a WG over the others. Also, I would never buy a bike at top price unless I could sit on it, hear her bark and fully inspect it. You could always upgrade the motor or tranny.

Have to disagree on the transmission comments. My bike has a five speed and my wife's has a six speed. At 70, the sixth gear is more comfortable than my fifth gear at 70.

If yer more into cruisin, I don't think you'll find any big advantage with 8 more cubes. I wouldn't let that diff push me in one direction or the other...go with the one ya like most, and gives ya the most bang for yer buck.

I bought an 88" because the insurance was significantly cheaper, so that may or may not be a factor for you.

It also depends on what you're coming from. For me, I'm coming from a 125hp 1000cc sportbike, so neither the 96 or the 88 are, or are ever going to be fast to me, and I'm fine with that. If neither one's going to really seem fast, why pay the higher insurance and the extra fuel for the 96? Plus the 88 is a tried and true motor.

Just my 2c. Get the one you love. If that WG is rattling your teeth, that might not be the right one. I test rode a Road Glide that did that to me too. Yuck.

I guess it boils down to what you're looking for.

I would think they're would be more aftermarket accs, for the 88" but the 96" won't be far behind. 6 versues 5 speed, don't see a whole lot of benefit with the 6th gear but that's just me.

Unless I go with the SE road Glide, I'll kee my 88"
