I just reurned from China. I visited the new HD shop in QingDao.
They say they have sold 70 bikes since they opened Oct 3.

The shirts are way high and it's cash or a China credit card only.

That's the motto I use everytime I go to Vegas. Unfortunately, it hasn't paid off yet.

When I was in Thailand in the Army, guys would try and trade you about anything they had for authentic Levi's bluejeans. I ended up trading away 2 old pair and getting about carved statues/carved horns that are worth about $400 back home. From what we were told, owning something American made over there is a big status symbol.

Ya, now they just make it themselves and put the Levi's label (or whatever else they want) on it stamped Made in the USA

A friend from South America recently moved here to distribute a premium product line. They had recently moved a lot of production to China to maintain their quality/cost levels. His last shipment from China went up 40% in price. Now, they are closing and dropping the U.S. market. Free markets are a wonderful thing. But, I will miss my buddy. People love a free market when it goes their way. They hate it when it goes the other way. But, the market doesn't care.
