Safety pins?

Forgot who said it but if you're going to do it, sewing is the only way to go.
If you want to make it removalbe then there were several ideas that may work.

I personally like the colored duct tape idea myself.

I know what he was thinking. He really didn't want to punch holes through the leather of the vest. If you ever take the patch off, then you see the holes.

I'd suggest you just skip the patch. Straight leather looks great. I have an aero vest that I have all patched up, and a couple of leather jackets that are plain. more often than not, I ride without the patches. I used to love them....but kinda moving away from it now.

Im thinking super glue, lots and lots and lots of super glue, both sides of the patch and the vest for durability.

Make sure to put it on right after so it sets properly without wrinkles.

I dont know why anyone would want to dedicate a piece of perfectly good leather to any one single organization. The only time you'll wear it is when you're on a chapter ride or meeting. Otherwise, it stays in the closet.

If you want to wear it, dont patch it.

You don't want to lose that HOG patch any more than you want to lose that BadMutherFuker wallet, right? So take the chain from your wallet and add a few links and run it through the patch. Very cool.

Mighty Putty's Gotta be the answer, in fact if you cover the whole vest with it it won't leak when you ride in the rain. I know cause the TV adds say it don't leak. Hell...we can cover all our riding gear and never have to stop to put on rain gear again.
That's a great idea.

sew velcro onthe vest....and on the patch.
If you get other patches, sew velcro on them also. that way you can take one patch off and replace it with another.

Is it a "sleeveless" vest?
