Default hodge podge of question...

okay, a couple of questions, and I did try to search this out.
1.anyone know of any good powder coaters in the SF Bay Area (I'm in the North Bay, Vallejo)? I have found a couple of powdercoaters but they basically want the wheels stripped and prepped for them (K, I understand they might want tires off and bearings out, but to prep the surface myself?)
2.anyone have any luck powdercoating the NON braking surface of the discs?
3.I have searched and searched...anyone have a good set of mirrors for drag bars? WITHOUT looking like I have a couple of low altitude satellites following me? What I really want is to buy some long stem tapered mirrors and bend them so they come out and not up...any ideas?

I can't help you with a bay area powder coater but I will say that it IS possible to powder coat brake rotors. I don't understand why your local PC shops are requiring you to prep the parts for them... that's a new one on me. I suggest you talk to your local dealer and indy shops to see who they use and/or recommend. Here's a shot of a powder coated rotor, amongst other things; http://www.finaltouchpowdercoating.c...Sportbob_4.JPG

If you have any specific questions about powder coating I'd be happy to help.

Arlen Ness makes some nice low-profile mirrors. Stripperella & I both use 'em on our bikes, and you actually can see out of them, despite their small size.

If you want a great powder coat job, call Jerry at Calico Coatings in Denver, NC. They make their living doing precision coatings for NASCAR, NHRA and NASA. You can rest assured the prep work will be correct. I coated my brake rotors a few years back. I even coated the leading edge of the rotor. Try www.calicocoatings.com. I know it isn't local, but you can't beat Calico in my opinion. They can also ceramic coat your exhaust if you interested. Just call and see what they can do for you.
