I run mine upside down. It's fine. I was concerned at first that I wouldn't be able to see but it is not an issue.

Oogly hardware problem is solved by getting some acorn nuts to replace the normal nuts. You can get 'em in chrome (puke!) or stainless.

I run my apes wider and couldn't find a way to see around my arms.. Let us know how it works out..

I found the hanging under location , in my case made it less an effort to see out of it as oposed to higher up on the already high handle bars. My were like 21 inches inclusing risers at one time. After to many 65$ tickets I put what they call "Sonny Apes" on. Apparently hteres this law where the grips arfe suppose to be 15 inches from your seat and pulling the bars down don't count when you get pulled over?

upside down worked well on sportsters with the skinny tank. i'd love to do it on my RK but they won't clear the tank when the bars are turned tight.
