Default Cornering question (almost went down)

OK, going into work this morning I take this fun lefthander which bends about 180 degrees around, slightly uphill and banked nicely. I countersteer and lean the bike into the turn pretty agressively and get on the throttle a little. About 3/4 through the turn I feel the bike going out from under me towards the right, almost like the front end just slid out from under me (not positive but it didn't feel like the rear came around). With the bike leaning way over (low side) at about 35-40 mph I put my left foot down hard, let off throttle and the bike straightens up and I continue through the turn and on my way. I thinking holy **** what the hell just happened? Is it possible to counter steer too much? Conditions were good, no debris or gravel on road. Just looking for advice to correct my mistake.

Where were you looking? In to the turn or through it?

Looking into the turn, really caught me by surprise cause I thought I was doing everything correctly.

Maybe you should have kept your body a little more upright. Perhaps you leaned too much to the low side of the bike.

You're the only one that can figure it out dude. Sometime weird things just happen. Maybe there was oil or snot....

A number of things come to mind. Anything from front braking to just a slick spot to excessive speed.

What concerns me more is your putting your foot down.....Ouch, broken leg? I would much rather low side and have a little road rash on my hip than plant a foot, break a leg and high side....

It is hard to learn but accelerating will stand the bike up....

You also might have been a little under in tire pressure.
