Do your kids like to play on the bike?

6 grandkids. 4 like to or are old enough to climb up on Gramps bike. I don't like it and discourage it. Their feet seem to find all the chrome parts and they usually have sand on their shoes. Primary case is a good place to put your feet and climb if your 5 years old.
So Gramps is the bad guy and says not to climb on his bike. Daughter-in-laws just think I'm being a SOB. My two sons know better. Always a battle when they are around my ride. It's getting better though I think my bitching is sinking in.

Yeah, right. Heck, mine are 8 & 10 and they ask permission just to go into the garage.
The other day my son flew out onto the terrace telling me that the mother had gone into the garage to get his sister's bike out for her. And mentioned that she'd come "-" this close to touching my bike.
I went out to the garage and the mother was there contemplating........ She then said, "would you mind helping me get her bike out from behind yours". " I don't want to touch your bike by accident." ....... smart.
Oh, and i'm not **** about the scoot, if it gets scratched, banged up, heck, so what. But that's my doing, and not the result of kids messin' around.

How many always lock the ignition when your bike is in the garage? Maybe all do, but
our Harley is the first bike I've ever owned that didn't require a key to start, and the only bike since the late 70's that I've owned that doesn't have any safety switches (pre '07's don't).
Kid climbs on bike, steps on shift lever, brake pedals, etc, turns switch, starts pushing buttons, bike starts....jiffy stand isn't going to help much if they're twisting the throttle....
Kids don't belong on any machinery without adult supervision, imo.
