Default moth ***** in ur gas tank?

I had a ole timer tell me today that he used to run low octane fuel in his harley and add 1 moth ball for every gallon of gas he used to fill up with. Has anyone heard of this?

My .02. have someone else try it, then tell us how it works. For me, unless I am willing to take the hit of what it could do (damage), I will not try it.

The mothball thing was/is snake oil.

Used to get "drip" from wellheads, too... add some cheap motor oil to it and at least the motors in my old crates wouldn't burn up quite so fast!

Believe it or not, the gas you are burnin' now, is worse, IMFUO, than 'our' old gas, with moth *****, in it.
Oxygenation, and octane boosters.
Ever heard of nitrous oxide? SUPER oxygenation.
Octane boosters are designed to control flame and flame travel.

moth ***** are made of naptha, or at least they used to be. Just another organic solvent and it may raise octane. Who knows what other effects it might have on the fuel system

Im guessin in the moth ball days they didnt have fuel injection. Im pretty old school and I never heard of it. Thats just me I guess. My .02 Gas tank= gas only. (MAYBE a specialized injection cleaner) I wouldnt do it.
