Ugly as **** - matter of taste
bland engines - makes no sense
no soul - mechanical objects contain no soul. It's what it does for you.

Dude, you do realize how little this makes sense considering you own a Sportster.

What an insult....

I won't allow Fords to park at my house....down the street maybe...

For that matter none of my friends drive Fords so the parking situation is remedied also...

What it does is bore me. They look like some kid's dub-toy - a joke of overdone fenders, flares, and silly chrome.

The engine is bland and boring. Its like driving a corolla with 22s and spinners.

And yes, they do contain soul. I'm sorry you can't tell.

best small to middleweight cruiser/standard, imo. At least with a V-twin, that is. If I were going for a 4 cyl, I'd get a 599.
edit: and if you're trying to make a "sportster isn't a real harley" joke - grow up.

Victory dealers - Here today gone tomorrow. I don't know what happened to the Victory dealer in Arlington, Tx. but their gone. The first time I looked at Victory's the prices made them attractive. Then when I was ready to buy the prices were right up there with HD. Then I checked on resale - not good.

Dealers - questionable
prices - high
resale - bad

Decision made, buy the Harley since that is really what I wanted anyway.

Firebird Formula, actually - best bang for the buck performance at the time

Jackpot solution..
Take the front-end of the hammer, put it on a Jackpot.. Now THERE's a bike!
Or just put a Jackpot fender on a Hammer and lower it.. I guess that might be easier.
Exactly. It's so overdone as to be tasteless and tacky.

Like:

I'd never buy one or ride one after the one I tested. They're just ~bland~, except in styling, which is way too over the top. They're also missing all the nice touches that the MoCo has - they're just another bike.

No, no. No "Sportsters aren't real HD" jokes. Had an Ironhead myself but you said something about "the buying the best..." and when it comes to HD's, I'd bet that the V-Rod is arguably HD's best.

It's good to have a choice of American bikes. Too bad Indian didn't do very well. They have much more character than a Victory. Even so, it's Harley or nothing for me.

well, that depends on what you're looking for - I wanted something smaller and built for carving at the time, but still a cruiser, so I nabbed the Sporty R. V-rod is (IMHO) a bit over-priced, and I wanted a 45' twin for simplicity (and just because I did)

I'd say that the MoCo's overall best is either the Fat Boy or the Electra Glide, but that's my opinion. We both definitely have different likes and dislikes if you think of the V-rod as the best, but that's why they make so many!
