Default Poll: Which "touring" is the smoothest?

Which TOURING bike has the smoothest idle & cruise?
I'm considering trading.........
Since I'm NOT able to ride all the touring models, I'd like your opinion on which is the smoothest.
THANKS!

I voted Road King just because I have one and have no intentions on up-grading anytime soon.

Just based on the ones I've ridden (several Road Kings, one Electra Glide, a GoldWing 1500 and 1800, and a BMW K1200LT), I'd say the GL1800.

Do you mean just HD? Then I'd say they're pretty much the same.

edit to add: Doh! I type too slow.

They are all based on the same frame/suspension so yes they basically all ride the same.

Once you get the Ultra up and running on the hwy its the best to have the intercom/Radio/cassette and once you get where you're going all the extra storage especially with 2 up is appreciated. Cruises no problem 80mph.

None of the HD TOURING bikes idle smoothly because none of them have the counter balanced engine. The only bikes that idle smoothly are the Softails. The touring bikes don't get smooth until about 2000 rpm. Go look at them and ride each before you buy.

Roadglide has the least weight on handle bars also least vibration on handlebars at idle and I hear the 09 Bikes are different due to the new motor mounts all Touring frames are the same ....Softails have a counterbalancer (power stealer) and are much smoother at idle.good luck!

Uh, Oh...... I thought maybe there was a difference in the "severity, or lack of" the vibration............

I guess you guys are right since they have the same motor/frame/suspension.........

The softails have a vibration but it's minimal...........

I'm thinking about the ROAD KING CLASSIC for my next bike, I like the look.

Thanks for the info!
