Default Love my Harleys -Thinking about a cage UPDATE

I got a line on a '05 Mustang Convertible V6 with 43K miles for less than $15k. The Mustang forums are a little slack. Harley people know their chit. Any comments, suggestions or things to look out for. Thanks.

IMHO, if you gotta go 4 wheels and still maximize your fun, you can't beat a drop top. I drove an 04 Honda S2000 for a couple of years and really loved it. If I ever get to the point where I can't handle the bike anymore, I'll definitely have a convertible to keep. They're the next best thing to motorcycles in terms of open air driving and you have the advantage of getting out of the weather if you want to!

Best of luck with whatever you decide!

There's no way in hell I'd get a Mustang with a 6 banger.

Why? You got a Harley that's slow as hell in the bike world...

My son has an 06 Mustang with the 6 cylinder and it's actually got some pretty decent power.

I understand the sentiment, but the V6 is cheaper insurance and better gas mileage. Besides - if I gotta raise Cain - either of my bikes will do fine. Niether of them have floor-boards. It's a used car I think might be a fair deal.

Keep looking, you can find a lower mileage one for around the same price. I was looking for one for my daughter but ended up getting her a Mini Cooper. Check these sites:

WOW!
My research time just increased. Thanks for including the links. I'm more psyched about the color/options combination than the bottom line, but I certainly appreciate all input. I understand '05 is a first-year model run and I'm curious about things to watch out for. By the way, it has an automatic.

I was looking at mustangs for my girlfriend. I found much better deals then that. rented a v6 auto, plenty of power but not that good on gas. is an autolenders around. pretty good deals on cars turned in after lease is up. 2006 models should be showing up there now.

Insurance is a good point. The gas mileage isn't better enough, in my mind, to justify the loss in resale value. The 6 bangers just don't sell anywhere near as well as the 8's... a disparity that grows as the cars get older.

Perhaps not relevant issue to you, which is cool. No doubt, even a 6 banger rag top Mustang would be a fun car to drive.

Get a Jeep. Fun in the winter time and can pretty much go anyhwere. Yeah the mpg kinda suck, 19 highway. But well worth it.
