Default Looking for better/louder slip ons for 1340?

Have a 99 FXR with a 1340cc motor in it. Have screaming Eagle slip ons on it but it just doesn't have the sound I'm looking for. Friend of mine has a 1200 sporty with Python slip ons and it sounds great. Any suggestions on a brand other than the Pythons? I guess I could take out the baffles and save some money but?????? This maybe the time to get newer ones as the bike nees to go in a it spits and sputters unless I ride with the choke out just a little bit. Thanks, Mark

Rush s/o's are nice. Sounds like you need a rejet as you appear to be running lean.

I think you maybe right as this has been suggested before. Won't attempt any 4000rpm shifts as the bike seems to fall on it's face. Thanks, Mark

Here's a link to a carb site that will help you. Tweeking the carb isn't very difficult.

I had Python 3's on a 99 Fat Boy for a short time.
Louder than most drag pipes, in fact down right obnoxious.
Way to loud for my taste but a lot of folks liked the way the bike sounded.

Just my .02,

Krusr

Have you tried bending the tabs inside the slip-ons? Might be something to consider before doing the recarb. Though I'm EFI, I can't tell you enough the difference it made in sound when i did that to my SE II's
