Quick question for the experts. I was given PhotoShop Elements for Christmas. Haven't installed it yet but was wondering if I'll be able to do this kind of editing with it.

Your welcome guys!
As for the PS Elements program, I am not familiar with that one.
But from looking at the description, and seeing how it has a layers box on the right, I would think you should be able to do most of it.
Not sure though. Best thing to do is type "Photoshop tutorial" in at google. You'll see loads of videos if you go to that section, or to you tube, and even how to.com Those sights teach you anything you want to know. I often will look at a technique I like, and will do a step by step in real time with an instructional video playing.
You'll be suprised to find out that the internet can be the best learning tool you will ever have.
Hell, I learned a load about Harley Davidson, a lot of horse training techniques, how to build a few bombs. lol
I even started a paint ball business with the internet, learning everything there is to know about paint ball from the internet alone.

it all depends what you want to do.

Elements is a photo editing tool, it will allow you to apply effects, change colors, remove elements in a photo, crop and so forth. you can add text and what not. It allows for layer work so it is versatile enough.

As said it is a photo editing tool, while photoshop allows you more freedom to artistically express yourself. Photoshop will let you build custome backgrounds, more layers and masking technics than elements.
