I've had cops follow me around Montreal..., and no hassles yet.
I gotta find the replacement LEDs ASAP as the brake light is fine, but the 2 little white led's that shine on the plate are burned. Don't need to attract anymore attention with burned lights as I don't think this plate mount is legal in Quebec.

NC law says they have to be mounted in the "horizontal upright position" so technically they are illegal here, however I've never heard of anyone who has been cited for it. As a former police officer I wouldn't waste my time with such a trivial violation.

Minnesota's new law
As of Aug. 1st (2008) all motor vehicles here in the land of 10,000 have to have a horizontal license plate. I think of this as discrimnation against bikers. I can't remember seeing any license plate, other then a bike that wasn't horizontal. My friend rides a custom with a vertical plate. It's probably a matter of time until he gets pulled over. I don't know what the fine will cost.

Greetings,
That's why I have a horizontal side mount plate on my bike. The Illinois and Missouri ***** I deal with love to pull over bikes with the vertical plate mounts. I've never been bothered and I've had ***** behind me numerous times.
