Warranty and Maint.
I’m looking for feedback on maintenance and warranty claims. I've been paying a trusted shop to perform my scheduled maintenance because I'm afraid that IF I have a warranty claim it will be denied if all I have to show are receipts for materials. (Oils, filters, etc.) I don’t like having to go to a shop. I don’t like the wait, I don’t like the bill…etc. I have NEVER had to call the 'Maytag' guy for ****. I've always fixed my own stuff and can't stand other people's work. The guy working on my bike is great. And IF I have to hire someone, it will be him. I still don't like it. I just don't want to have to hire a ****ing lawyer if a warranty claim needs to be submitted. Have any of you had personal experience with a warranty claim submitting personal receipts vs. shop receipts? Or is it going to be a bitch no matter what I do?

Never have had a dealership ask for shop receipts when I've needed warranty work. They usually just run the VIN and determine if the bike still falls within the warranty period. If it does, you're good to go. An exception might be if the bike has been modified from it's stock configuration.

I have found it too be EXACTLY like what Plow64 said. I do most all of my work and maintenance, and never had ANY problems when having a warranty claim.
