Default New FLAT personalized plate for NC (PICS)

So I finally got my personalized plate here in NC and apparently NC is going with a new "flat plate" design for all specialized and personalized plates at this point. Instead of having the characters stamped into the metal, they are printed directly on the sheet. The plate itself is also about half the thickness of the standard plate, so it did make it easier to fit in the curved frame. Not sure what I think of the new look, definitely looks like something I made myself or "fake" but I'm sure I'll get more used to it as time goes on. I haven't seen any others on the roads yet, but just thought I'd share...

Arizona is going in the same direction. I'm getting used to seeing them on cars out here.

Question?? Were you able to use the standard holes? NC has an odd placement for mountin g holes. I was going to use a laydown plate had to elongate the holes.

Yeah, like Donna said, AZ is doing it. As soon as I got one, I took it back for a Vet plate. They're still stamped!

South Carolina is changing over to the non-stamped plates. Looks like it would be easy to duplicate on a copy machine.

I guess like anything else, we'll get used to it eventually.
