Ladies......what to do with helmet hair?
OK I am new to riding and I am trying to figure out how to not have your hair look like crap by the time you take that helmet off? I also live in Florida with a zillion % humidity!
I have really long hair and I know braiding it will help but is there anything else I can put on before my helmet to help reduce the "helmet hair" ?

Uhhh, this appears to be a rather 'sexist' post, young lady. WTH, doesn't OUR helmet hair count? 
Oh, never mind, I don't have enough to worry 'bout anywho.
Now, back to our regularly scheduled post.
BTW, Momma braids hers, then takes it 'down' when we arrive. ONLY thing she's found that works for 'her hair'. She's tried those hair ties, other things over the years. But she keeps going back to braiding it. .02
I gotta go, now, Trish. Don't want all those 'macho' guys seein' me post on a "Ladies" thread, you know.

Who the heck cares what the hair looks like? Ride and enjoy. My girlfriend used to worry about helmet hair, and then she discovered she can slap on a bandana to go into the restaurant (or whatever). At the end of a long day on the road, the hair on her head ain't the thing I am most interested in, and the other hair looks just fine.

Trish, you're pretty much stuck with a doo-rag, scarf, skull cap or a ball cap. Seems to be either cover it or show it and get over it. Part and parcel of riding. I can loosely braid mine down the back and to the scarf around the forehead thing, if we're not going too far, then take it out of the braid and brush it out once at our destination, but if it's all day in the saddle, I braid mine up because the resulting tangles if I don't do that, just aren't worth it. Hope this helps.

I have been asking the same question since 2001!! I've not come up with anything yet. I look horrible in a doo rag...some women look great in them, I don't think I do. Even my own, sweet, youngest daughter always looks at me in horror after a days ride. So....look at my sig pic and you will see the only thing I know to do, and that's slap a cap on it. I don't really like that either, but what the heck else? If you come up with anything, let me know.
