Oh and a side note John, the shop manual says to "purchase an official electrical manual" ... that's why I'm stuck where I am. But thanks for the help!

07 Softail service manual. I got it out because I have it and how different can one regulator be from another? But there in section 8 it says "remove regulator and carefully install new one with wires routed the same as factory" and if you want to test it, all you have to do is go buy the "official HD electrical manual".
So I guess the Chinese are doing more at Harley than just building all the parts...now they're running the friggin company too.
Oh yeah...I've already been inside the mill...it says "made in china" more than the first five rows at Wal-mart.

I give up!!!

Lets see you're working on a 01 RK, using a 07 softail factory shop manual and for electrical values you have to buy a 60.00 electrical shop manual because your 07 softtail shop manual doesn't cover electrical and you need all this info for the RK, I would think you'd go buy a touring shop manual Zuel.

It's not my bike, and I'm trying to help a guy out using the resources I have...is that ok John? I told him to go get a factory manual. Since you already HAVE a manual, why don't you look in there and give me a hint what color the stator wires are? Most vehicles use three wires (representing the stator windings) the same color, usually yellow. I can't find anything like that on here.
C'mon buddy, part of the solution or the problem?

By the way, nice color scheme on your scooter. Did you flame it or have it done?

If you changed the regulator you've already had a hold of the stator wires. Look at the motor on the left side, look right underneath the front cylinder left side towards the front, this is where the stator wires come out at and goes to the regulator,, now your question is answered you'll see what color the wires are.

Part of the problem is trying to guess what you are trying to say or whether it's B/S or not, one second you have a manual, but it's for a softtail, next second you know the values of the stator, and then you post you have all you need and then post you don't.

" Quote ya mon, de regulator is already on there to da tune of 235.00...I don't see any typical butchered wiring for Police bikes. Got stats on the stator resistances and locations of components? Thanks guys!"

you need to get your friend to buy the shop manual, best money he'll ever spend.

You should have the info you need now good luck with the repair.

John, does "Got Milk?" mean that you have it? Or is it asking if you've "got milk?"
Another guy posted the A/C output of the three wire windings. THAT'S what I was talking about! There are two wires in and two wires out of the regulator. No three wires. I'm flying blind and asked for some HELP here, so sorry to have bothered you.
Can somebody look in a damn manual and tell me what three wires I'm looking for???? Is this why when I go to try and buy an air cleaner at a dealer I get some kind of bull**** about changing the backpressure on the fuel injection? The lead techs don't even know how it works...maybe I just need to get a million tattoos and then I'll be a lead tech.
Good Christ never mind.

I told you what wires were the stator wires, where they come out at and go to, they connect on the left side of the regulator where two wires come out and go to the connector of the stator wires coming from the location I told you, the connection with two wires in it, got it, don't get pissy with me I've given you the info you asked for,, you need to use it. On the right side of the regulator is two wires a ground and a circuit breaker wire,, no connectors.

On second thought PM me your phone number and I'll call you and give you any info from my manual that I can.
