Default Zumo 550 Weather

After searching through several pages of Zumo threads, I am forced to ask this question.

Does anyone know if the Zumo 550 shows weather radar on the screen, or is it just a weather update from a service of some kind?

Thanks in advance for the help. Trying to decide between the Zumo and the GPSMap 478.

From Garmin's web site
With XM WX Weather displaying, you have the confidence of knowing what weather lies ahead. With a subscription to XM WX Weather, you'll receive comprehensive graphical weather displays on your compatible Garmin for your plane, boat, vehicle or any fixed location in the continental U.S. and 100 miles into U.S. coastal waters. Over 20 different types of graphical weather information can be overlaid onto your compatible Garmin display (depending on the XM WX Weather package selected by the subscriber). XM WX Satellite Weather delivers location-specific, animated, high-resolution weather data, in chart-overlay form, directly to your Garmin GPS — without the need for a separate PC connection.

"you'll receive comprehensive graphical weather displays on your compatible Garmin"

Thanks, Glenn. I did see that, just was curious if it's the same radar screen as the 478.

I would really like this. Earlier this year I got caught in a storm on I65 south of Chicago. I had the HK weather alert on and heard the tornado alerts. The weather service broadcast where it was along with the counties under alert. My problem was I had no idea where they were relative to my location. I didn't know if I was driving into it or not. I ended up driving into one of the worst rain storms I have ever been in and it was well after sunset.

If the 478 is getting it's weather from XM like the 550 is, it will look exactly the same. Even if it's getting it from another source, I can't imagine it looking any different. The big thing is how current the weather is. Most satellite weather radar feeds are 15 minutes old by the time you get them.

I don't like the delay either... I know the 478 will show an animated and a still NEXRAD radar image. A guy had one on his Ultra at the Missouri HOG rally. Pretty cool. Just wondered if the 550 did that too.
