I also wear polarizied Ray Ban Aviator and they work great. On my second prescription with the same frames. I carry a pair of regular glasses in my windshield bag for bars and resturants. The Ray Bans are dark.

I had lasik surgery so don't need glasses.

I have noticed that even the cheapest drugstore rack sunglasses seem to be polarized. I've never had a problem with polarized - I like the glare removal.

This thread is very similar to one on a sailing forum I've been known to frequent; sailors swear by (and at) their glasses since many times they need to look at water and an LCD screen for wind/plotter instruments. I wear the same glasses riding as I do sailing, a pair of hardware store dark safety glasses. They're dark enough for bright days, they wrap around, they reduce UV by 99.4%, and they're cheap to replace.

I hate polarized prescription sunglasses. I have been using a pair for a little over 2 years. No problem with riding the bike, but they are a PITA for everything else. They block out a lot of images on LED screens, such as cell phones, cameras, monitors, store charge card screens, etc.
I have been cussing these glasses out since the day I bought them. I will be getting new glasses pretty soon and will toss the polarized pair.

"cussing these glasses out" NOW THAT'S FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!

You are right about the LED screen. There is always drawbacks for everything.
