Probably not boosted at all! When I bought my 05 Classic, the lighter was gone before I made it home...everybody I've talked with has lost theirs the same way. I don't smoke anyway, and have never had the socket plugged...still works fine for charging the cell or whatever other electrical doodad I need to plug in there.

That is a possibility. We do have very bumpy roads in my neighborhood.

BTW, anyone looking to get a replacement lighter element can get one from LS1HD.com for $12.72.

The part # is 91808-89 as per my parts catalog.

Would that not bring up some serious warranty issues up the next time he had it serviced. My owners manual said that it is important that you "Keep it all HD".

I would assume that if you have a short in the system and it is said to be caused by your lighter outlet because it was not protected by the weather boot of the HD lighter element then potentially it could bring up a warranty issue. However, if they just pop off then I'm going to kick and scream untill any issues are fixed.

In my 1994 Aerostar, the lighter would pop out when red hot & shoot back 3 - 4 feet into the carpet near the rear seats. I'm not joking.

If your scoot was locked I don't see how it got jacked. I thought mine did once too, but after looking at it I couldn't see how. Had to admit it might have been my fault?

going down the superslab at 75 or better I saw my fall even hit my foot, I did not turn around for it since I don't smoke. But now when I charge my phone I don't have to worry about where to put the lighter.
