Thumbs up Why doesn't h-d "counter-balance" all bikes?

My DELUXE is "counter-balanced" and is a pleasure to ride........

but yesterday at the FACTORY DEMO party I rode a ROAD KING, loved the bike, the look, the sitting position and everything about it except for the vibration.

And I was following two H-D factory escorts riding an ULTRA and some other touring model......

while sitting at the light behind them I thought that trunk-thing AND passenger seat were gonna FLY OFF and land on my ROAD KING....
they were VIBRATING THAT BAD!

So between the HEAT AND the vibrating, I have NO doubt that those two guys lost 5 lbs of weight! (which is not a bad thing!)

I just don't get it, I guess........ why do they want these Harleys VIBRATING that much ?!?

I want a bigger HARLEY, maybe a touring model, but I don't want any bike if it's gonna vibrate to that extent.........

I'm not bashing H-D, I have one and love it, but what's the DEAL?????
I guess I'll just keep my DELUXE for now.............

I'd really like to see Harley go with "liquid" cooling and more "counter-balancing"!

I did suggest that to one of the factory guys but he acted as though he was offended, which I certainly didn't mean to do.

Just a thought!

I went from a 02 FXST to a 08 RG. It took about 3K miles to get used to the vibration. I think that a bagger without the vibration would be a big plus to the MOCO.

Having had an 04 fatboy, and now a Roadking...The vibration doesn't bother me personally. Only notice it at red lights for extended periods of waiting. Have the arlen ness mini oval mirrors, which don't seem to be affected by the vibration. Vibration goes away when you start moving. Have had a lot of people comment that the shaking motor and handlebars looks kinda cool. Like the bike has way more power than it actually has.

I'll know I'm getting old when I start complaining about such trivial comforts as vibration.

Harley's vibrate? I don't beleive that. Whatever one puts on a motor to reduce the firing pulses, it uses engine power to operate said anti-vibration parts. I would venture to say the 1800 cc engine with Japenese/overseas technology can afford to sacrifice those ponies. I bought HD motorcycles with the understanding they will vibrate. You should ride a solid mount 1200 Sporster for about 2 hrs at 70 mph, now that's vibration.

My Dyna vibrates quite nicely, I would be quite pissed off if they did anything to change that!

Hmmm, I was born at night, but not last night.

Fairly new member, gets a few posts then starts bashing Harley and praising Honda.

Where have I heard all of this before?

Just buy the Honda, join a Honda forum and have a great time.
