Default Loneliest Road in America

Rode Hiway 50 thru Nevada in Aug and got my little card stamped and sent it in. Well I received an "I survived" certificate and a lapel pin. It was a trip I'm glad I made. We made it in one day. From Baker to Carson City, 350 miles. It lived up to its name.

On the way back from Sturgis, up in Missouri somewhere I met a couple that had ridden Route 66 west to Ca and were taking 50 back or at least as much of it as they could. They were making a month of the ride. First time I'd heard of route 50. What's the story on Route 50?

Good Luck

Tom

I've ridden that road a dozen times ... I didn't know you could get a pin for it. I'm assuming you had to pay something for it. Post a link or more information, that may be something cool to add to the ol' vest.

I bet no one ever "tries out" their horsepower down some of those stretches huh? Looks interesting...some of those straights look almost monotonous. I would ride it though...I'd love to see that part of the country. Thanks for the info Ice...

I have driven hwy 50 many times in my truck hauling material from northern Nevada and northern California into southern Utah. I've always loved that road. One time I went three hours without seeing another soul.
