Thanks for all the positive responses guys...keep em coming.
I think 10k is pretty cheap for a damn near brand new Harley. ****, I'm sure some of your guys are paying 20+ for your fat boys and such after all the addons from the factory. They are 14k out the door brand new and I've been seeing used ones fro 9500-10500. All with maybe w couple thousand miles and all 07's......I like the new to me concept without the dealers raping you on your way out the door. I plan on making my own drag bars, pipes, & intake. The only thin I'm gonna buy is the forward controls (might giver a go at designing my own set at work) and the smoke signal lenses so there isn't going to be any other real investments other than the cost of the bike itself.
I'm 5'10" & about 190lbs so I think I will fit ok once I get the forward controls. But when you say its a small bike I compare it to the old old bobber Harleys, Indians, & Triumphs....those bikes were really small....but then again back when those were built the average male height was right around 5'7"

I think its cool. If I were to buy a sporty that would be the one. Make a nice cheep used bike to get just to ride back and forth to work and around town. Put some pipes and a few extras on it and it would look pretty good in the garage.

i like mine a lot. 12k miles this season. no bolt-ons. everything i've done so far is labor-only. the saddle gets a make-over next week.
if you want to a cheap canvas for a custom bob-job, its a tough bike to beat:

OK, first off, sorry, the Nightster IS a Sportster. Yeah, I know what youre saying, styling and all, but it is.
Second, the Sporty isnt no chick's bike. I thot that way for a while, chick bike, starter Harley, all that. However, we bought my girlfriend a Nightster (ok, in this case it IS a chick's bike...) and I got to keep it warm for her until she got her M/C license squared away. Its a really FUN bike to ride. Fast, fairly nimble. Not sportbike nimble, but nimble in a good way.
Im 6-01, all legs and arms, so it doesnt really fit me well. Especially after getting my Street Bob, but for a shorter guy it'd be great.
Buy a Nightster without fear my friend. Youll love it.
