I bought my first Harley late in the season last year, an 05 ultra. Never had a shield until then and wasn't so sure I was going to like it. After riding deep into the new england winter months I can't see myself without some type of wind protection. The only problem was I had to ride alone because my friends found it to cold without a windshield.

I'm guess that I am a POSER. I won't ride very far without a windshield or a fairing. But I have ridden over 300,000 mi. with them. OH WELL!!!

I love having a fairing. I have the good fortune of living in Las Vegas where you can ride pretty much 355 days of the year if youre able to deal with the coolness of the winters, wich arent that cold, especially with having some kind of fairing.I havent had to break the car out in so long I have spiderwebs around the wheels. My previous bikes had no fairing and I would siss out sometimes at 3:30 in the morning when it was cold and jump in the car, but since I got the Streetglide I might as well get rid of my car. The stereo really helps too.

I never thought I would want one but after two years of saving Im a couple of months away from my 09 Street Glide. I just keep thinking about how much I want to ride when I finially get my Harley and I would ride more year around with a batwing.

well in the 105th festivities, most of the bikes had fairings, many electra glides, ultras and street glides....i guess the trend is already here.

My original intent was to yank the whole thing and make more of a RK but after having it a while now I suspect I'll keep it. With the 4" windshield I still get a face full of bugs and wind, but if it rains most of the water is blown away from my body. Also, I am growing to like the look and the idea of a "hot rod bagger" is definitely growing on me.
Umm...let me get this straight. So you're gonna yank out the stereo and speakers in your Ultra in order to make tiny little storage compartments? Aren't the glove compartments in the lower fairing, saddlebags and tour pack enough for ya?
