How often to replace battery in security fob?

It's in the owner's manual how to set the code using the grips. I set mine and I don't even remember what it is. I think I'll start changing mine every year also. That's a good idea.

That is almost true at my dealer. There are two parts guys. One I consider an A$$ and the other is the only one I will deal with. Lost key and fob in Delaware somewhere and ordered new ones. Go to pick them up and A$$ was only guy there. Started to sell me a line bull about needing service to program the fob. A$$ must get some kind of commission for sending people that didn't read their owners manual to service needlessly.

get outta Dodge!!! an hour's labor for 2 mintues work??? that sounds like a crock - like it'll void your warranty if you or anyone but a HD tech does a service.
oh - to replace the battery takes a quarter - the batteries are sold everywhere - you can even get one at WallyWorld. my indy suggested changing it once a year.

I believe there is a way for the service guys to tell you what the security code is if they hook the bike up to a confuser.

I ordered a new battery for my fob three weeks ago. I called them today and they said its still on backorder.
