It's in the owner's manual how to set the code using the grips. I set mine and I don't even remember what it is. I think I'll start changing mine every year also. That's a good idea.

That is almost true at my dealer. There are two parts guys. One I consider an A$$ and the other is the only one I will deal with. Lost key and fob in Delaware somewhere and ordered new ones. Go to pick them up and A$$ was only guy there. Started to sell me a line bull about needing service to program the fob. A$$ must get some kind of commission for sending people that didn't read their owners manual to service needlessly.

oh - to replace the battery takes a quarter - the batteries are sold everywhere - you can even get one at WallyWorld. my indy suggested changing it once a year.
And the tech can only drink HD bottled water and wipe their cracks with HD toilet paper while on the clock, or it will void every bikes warranty that worked on that day.

Wow, your guy are fast. You probably didn't even have to leave the bike overnight.

I believe there is a way for the service guys to tell you what the security code is if they hook the bike up to a confuser.

Wifes died on her after 4 months, about 20 minutes past the last town of course...Good thing I had done the book thing, again, before we left.

I carry a spare battery in the Tour-Pac. I also carry the wallet card that tells me how to disarm the security with the turn signal switches.
