Rain-X should not be used on bike shields.

Plexus is a good cleaner/polish that causes rain water to bead and run off. I carry a can on road trips use it on my helmet visor, too. Most HD dealers sell it.

This is what I was talking about giving a try:

Windshield Water Repellent Treatment

Approved for use on Harley-DavidsonŽ LexanŽ windshields. Enhances visibility during wet-weather riding. Reduces the surface tension of water, allowing the water to bead and dissipate from the windshield by the air-flow during riding. The convenient dispensing container includes ten disposable wipes for easy application of the treatment. Repeat application of the treatment as necessary. Not recommended for use on faceshields. Not for use on an anti-fog product.

10 wipes.

MSRP US $6.95

DO NOT PUT RAIN X ON A HD SHIELD!!!! Don't ask me how I know. I love my Cee Bailey shield, I just didn't plan on getting it as soon as I did!!

This is exactly what I put on my shield. I can't tell you how it works because I NEVER use my shield, but the sheild still looks just fine.

I've found that Rain-X screws up my wiper blades. That's why I don't use it on my bike.

I are not always very helpful.

Not to sound like Uncle Don, but shouldn't this be in the Detailing Forum? JMHO

I was told specifically not to use rain-x on any mc windshield (at the dealer). I use Harley gloss on mine, it is approved. It doesn't work as well as rain-x but it seems to clean easily.

Any reason you can't just use a bit of wax on the windshield?
