LIDAR speeding tickets at toll booths
Head up ! CHP is sitting near toll booths clocking people with LIDAR and issuing tickets.
It's basically cherry-picking for them. The speed limit is 25mph at the FasTrak lanes, but many people go through at close to double that, especially on bikes because they're so much narrower than cars. I know I feel much more comfortable squeezing my bike through the narrow space at speed than I do getting my car through that gap, so I'm going to let someone else in the lanes next to me get nailed instead of me.

The state desperately needs money. We're already one of the highest taxed states. Where the money is going, I have no idea. So, one of the best ways to get it is to crack down on moving violations. If you haven't noticed already, alot more CHP presence up and down California.
Trust me, my buddy is a chippie. They don't do it for the safety, as much as you would like to think that politicians care about us...they do it cuz they need money.

Tickets for speeding . Don't like them but whats' new. It's just another form of taxation. Between taxes , fees, and fines, you would think they could balance a budget.
