MMI and motorcycle thefts in phoenix.
I start in november the mmi program in phoenix. a few days ago i was told some horror stories and warned about living in quarters recommended by the school as they are known by motorcycle thiefs and i was told every six weeks when a new class comes through these thieves tend to frequent the same areas in search of new students bikes. has anyone here heard of this happening? i was told in more specific detail whos these thieves were affiliated with but i wont bring that part up ... just yet.
im preparing myself for just what to expect. all i own is my bike and i dont want it to come up missing or even worse catch a case for unloading a clip into some ******** trying to lift it into a truck. i will be out my only source of transpo and wont be able to attend the program i will be paying a hefty price for.
smart A$$ comments need not apply. thanks in advance

First I've heard of this. I guess it kinda makes sense a little bit. Why not pick someplace different then? You can get some decent apartments a little further away priced about the same. You might have to commute more, but this is the southwest, commuting is pretty much a way of life!

I've never heard of this either, but it's been so long since I was in school that I probably wouldn't ever hear about it. If you're worried about it, I'd live somewhere else. There are plenty of apartments around for the same money.

Our neighbors 'future' son in law is down there right now, at MMI. They (not sure how many) rented a house together, and has a nice grudge. They keep their scoots in there. Not sure about the co$t vs apt., but if the scoot gets heisted, that's co$tly. Also peace of mind is worth a bunch, Baxter. Insure the chit out of it, too.

Phoenix is among tops in the nation for auto theft. I've not heard much about bikes being stolen here but I'm sure it happens. Best you can do is be smart about where you park it. Try and secure it to a pole with a heavy cable if you can, maybe put a GoldWing cover on it too.

I haven't heard of that problem in this area but it's certainly a possibility. I know if you could get a couple of others guy's along with yourself, you could more then likely rent a house with a garage much cheaper then each of you renting your own apartment here in the NW Phoenix Metro area, and that would be close to where the MMI school is located.

There are so many homes to rent in that area of town right now, you would be better off getting one of those. Apartments suck the major DONG!!!
Get on line and find a rental company or real estate agent find you one in the area.
Good luck...
