Retired twice, USMC and the Sheriff's Office. Still do reserves for the S.O. to keep my cert. Other than that I ride when I want and play in the pool.

Congratulations to all the retired gentleman (i use that word loosely) on this forum.....
I'm a long way from being retired but I am lucky enough to be self employed....... i tell the guys that work for me that i'm going to a meeting...... jump on my bike..... and i see them in the morning - nothing like it............ Its none of their business if i'm riding, playing golf, or drinking at the strip club at 11am on a wednesday........

When you are retired you can? Plan a trip to Florida this week and go next week with a couple of riding buddies because they're retired too. Oh, to be back at work scheduling my vacation!!![sm=smarty.gif]

RE: When you are retired you can?
In 1970 when I left the Air Force my Dad said to go to work for a very large company, get into their retirement fund and savings plans up to your eyeballs. Hired on with AT&T, invested 6% of my salary into a matching fund savings plan, bought stock, and saved a couple of bucks a week....for 30 years. When I left they offered a buyout package. Walked out the door with nickles under a million dollars. Hired a retirement fund manager who is making me 9 1/2 percent on my investment. Thanks Dad!
2 more years and I will start collecting Social Security. The government will make the payments on 2 new Harleys and the new Mustang GT ragtop for my wife.
Retirement means getting on your Harley and riding 'that-a-way'. A couple of credit cards and a little green in your wallet. We even took off on a lark and ended up in Utah. Had to buy "T" bags in Las Vegas and some clothes to wear.

Hey 100th RK, congrats on retirement. I turned 50 in July, went to work on a 6am to 2pm shift, around 10am I told them I'm going to lunch and by the way I'm retired as of today. Bought me a brand new RK standard and never looked back. Retirement is very cool indeed. My wife still works too. Thirty years of air traffic control was enough. Great job, but glad to leave it in my wake.

I just finished 20 with the USAF as an ATC'r- - now continuing with another 20 in the private sector!

RE: When you are retired you can?
I'm 56, retired from the tools at 55 and am busier doing what I want to do than I was as plumber. One heck of a lot lighter work too. I still have old customers bugging me to come back to work but after 40 years of it I don't even want to change my own faucet washers anymore. I've got 3 horses, 5 Harleys. Two rental properties to maintain, and three grand children to keep me hustling. I highly recommend it!!
