I got up this morning with nothing to do and didn't have time to finish. Will try to complete it tomorrow. Too cold to ride yet. However, both days of summer are just a few months away. Why oh why did I retire to WI instead of AZ. Whine, whine, sniffle.

Just bought a cottage on a lake in Southwestern Michigan and a pontoon boat. I've decided (God willing) to retire from my full-time Cop job in 3 yrs, when I'm 60. That will give me 35 yrs of being a Cop and that's enough. I'll still teach and do consulting, but only as much as I want to.
Plan to take my "ride of a lifetime", which I've been planning for many years. I'll leave home and be back when I get back. I want to see as much of the U.S. as I can, maybe a month's worth, but no plan, no schedule, and no deadline to get back to go to work.

Take off on a day like today (sunny 72, cool this AM) and just ride. Did 300 miles today with no destination and still got home before the wife gets off work. She will never know. Well the smile and wind burned face might give me up!!!! Ahhhhh retired and 52. Life is good.

Ain't life grand. Pulled the plug in 2000 at the ripe age of 55 and never looked back. Bought a vacation house on the Colorado River in Arizona, a new Harley for me, and one for my wife. Got up this morning and rode 40 miles to the beach so I could drink my morning coffee watching the waves from the Ventura pier.....life is good.
Wife still works! Hit mucky-muck Management level a few years ago and is having fun. Besides they are paying her an insane salary!

I retire in 3 months after 30.5 years in the military, I'll be 48. The wife and I have a 10 day ride planned for Deal's gap then she has to get back to work. I have another job lined up that gives me a 2 month break, then it's back to work for 5 years. Then finally it's reitrement for good and a move to 6 acres in Northeast Georgia for some great riding on uncongested roads!

I don't think I will ever be able to retire,[sm=boohoo.gif] but I am glad you can enjoy the fruits of your labor. Four-eight with three girls ages 16,14 and 5, I hope they can find a rich old man.
