Default Rubber on exhaust pipes

Has anyone found a way to get melted rubber off of the exhaust. I gave my Grandson a ride and he melted his running shoe all over my left exhast pipe. He left a pretty big patch and so far I have not been able to get it off. any suggestions?
Thanks

I have used 1(0) steel wool on mine before and got it off with fair to good results but I only had a small patch. Lots of elbow.

wd-40 or anything like it, let it soak real good, nylon scraper and go at it with the scraper and the wool, worked for me no problem on my ulta exhaust

a bike magazine article I read said easy off for COLD ovens. put it on cold pipe and leave it on over night wipe off with wet rag in am (be very careful not to get any cleaner on painted surfaces) then use eagle one never dull wadding polish I haven't found cold oven cleaner yet at my local grocery store but the eagle one does a pretty good job by itself with a minimal amount of effort.

I scrape it off with a razor blade. I used scotchbrite once and ouch, I won't do that again. Steel wool should be fine though, I've used it on chrome and glass and it does a good job.

Try just the easyoff oven cleaner. Spray it on while pipes are hot. Let it sit a few minutes then wipe it off. If some is still there, repeat. Always works for me.

Easy off works great! I've been able to just wipe it off after a few minutes (put it on warm pipes, not hot). Just be careful not to get any on any painted surfaces.
