I like leather (heavy jacket saved me in a serious crash), but in SE Louisiana it's just too hot much of the time, so I wear a leather vest. My current vest has some patches, mostly event patches -- it's sorta like putting bumper stickers on the family van for all the states you drive through <g>. I like the color, like the look. Oh yea, on the front there's an American flag patch on the left, a Louisiana flag patch on the right.

I wear a denim vest with a few patches and pins from the Navy, PGR, Rolling Thunder, Rumble Through the Tunnels, Iron Butt and some other rides I've been a part of. I don't have saddle bags so I mostly use my vest pockets to carry things.

Just rode down to the beach earlier and picked up a dvd, fit nicely in the inside pocket along with my car keys, cell phone and my clear glass lenses.

I would recommend NOT putting a back patch with any sort of location attached or even near it. That's waving a red flag that says, "This is my territory." While you might ride for years without ever having a problem, you might not ride one day without regretting it.

If the link says it has been shut down because it's over the limit, feel free to PM me if you have any questions, etc.

Wow... some serious reading there, pococj. Didn't fully realize the gravity of how something done in fun could be offensive to serious MC's. 'Preciate the education.

Sooo... perhaps I need to ice the idea of an all-in-fun "patch".

I doubt wearing such a patch would be an issue in the immediate vicinity where I live... but... I (we, wife and I) intend to keep enlarging our circle of two-wheeled travel. Wouldn't want to mar a great trip through ignorance of MC protocol. Basically, wearing a patch on yer back can put you into a situation akin to letting your mouth write a check your butt can't cash, huh?

Funny thing is.... it MIGHT be an issue in your home town, and you wouldn't even know it... UNLESS you started sporting a "territory" patch

Wild Hawgs... HOG etc, I "think" Oklahoma is OK as far as "riding clubs
