How do thieves steal a Harley?
#22
When I would take my WG on long trips I would always ask for a handicap room around the back. Doors are wide enough to ride the bike into the room. Can't do it with the SG fairing is too wide.

Hey guys, watch as you are riding for a panel van type vehicle following you. They stick with you until you pop in somewhere and four guys pick up your bike and drive off with it in the van within one minute!

With all this talk about bikes getting stolen and people getting killed makes me wish I insured my self and the bike with Smith and Wesson. If taxachusetts gun laws were not so bad I'd probably go out and get something.

If the want it...they will get it. I use the fork lock to keep my kids from stealing it or knowking it off the jiffy in the garage. FWIW, came home from work yesterday and the wife left the garage door ( the big one) open all afternoon with my bike sitting there in plain sight with the cover off.. WTF????

I realize bikes are stolen to be stripped for parts, but how do they sell the parts? Does someone buy the running gear and build a new bike? What about VIN numbers? Seems like a lot of risk for a thief and not much reward.

I use Lojack. Odds are in my favor that it would be found, and hopefully the guys will get caught in the act of stripping it down. It's still not perfect, but don't know a better way.

Like the idea...but
I watched this at octoberfest in munich germany...bunch of guys walking down a road..knocking over all bikes that were jap made...
Would hate too cover my harley with a goldwing cover and get it knocked over.
