The Sportster is the longest continuously produced motorcycle in the Harley-Davidson line-up, probably the longest produced motorcycle period. Getting rid of it is not an option. The superglide is a great bike and I wouldn't hesitate in getting one, but consider what kind of riding your going to be doing and how much ching you can spend.

I don't have a problem riding a "bigger" bike, like the StreetBob, so this is not a factor. Any advise / opinions will be appreciated.
By the way, I am 6 foot and 195 lbs.

Go for the Superglide. You won't regret it.

I say give them both a try it is the best way.Personally, have always liked the looks and sound of the bigger engined bikes.Rode a Sportster once or twice and it just feels very awkward to me.Again your choice.Good Luck

Default SG For Me

I've started with an 883 and loved it. Got myself a SG Custom and have no regrets. It is a great smooth ride and like a couple of folks have mentioned already, 6th gear is great on the highway.

If money is no object get the Super Glide. Bigger engine, bigger bike, etc. You'll be more comfortable on it and you won't have to eventually upgrade which many people do who by Sportsters. My $.02.

Money is a factor, but I am willing to go a little extra for something I will not "outgrow" anytime soon. I do plan on doing a lot of 2 up riding also - thanks for bringing that up!

I gave serious consideration to a Sportster, until I took the wife to the dealer with me and had her hop on the back. Went over to the Super Glide and we both climbed on it. Decision made. I absolutely love my Super Glide.

I am glad to find out I am not the only one who has had to make a decision like this...

By that statement an 883 shouldn't be in the mix. Superglide for sure or equal (or even bigger).
