Wyde Glyde Bry spoke the truth, jackets take a LOT of room. Most saddlebags won't hold one heavy leather jacket. I'm very happy with my Lonestar 4. It's good sized and it comes with a barrel bag that you say you don't want but will come to use a lot. Get one that is reinforced and holds it's shape. They don't flop around when not packed full.
