BAY MINETTE, Ala. — It appears that a group of motorcycle riders — many of them service members — didn’t get the memo about obeying traffic laws.
Alabama state troopers said 12 cyclists were arrested after they were clocked at speeds of over 140 miles per hour on Interstate 10. All were stopped Sunday afternoon between the Daphne and Malbis exit ramps. Seven were airmen; three were sailors.
Eleven men and one woman were each charged with speeding and reckless endangerment. The group was placed in the county jail in Bay Minette.

Well, they will have to answer with "Double Jeopardy" Because their CO will be interested in this for sure... maybe to the tune of a stripe and loosing base driving privileges!

Your so right about the double jeopardy. Sounds like students from Biloxi AFB The Navy has some schools there they share with the AF. I'd hate to have to call the command to bail me out. In my days, the local LEO's had an agreement with the bases to hold them and contact the command. Punishment will be worse just because of the media attention as well. Sounds to me like sport bikes and the military is loosing too many young men and women on those things

Oh man, can you say totally FOOKED!! Once civilian authorities get done with them they'll face UCMJ also.....I can just imagine that call to the First Sergeant and CO from jail....oh man.....

They are going to get screwed. I remember every year I was in the AF they would brief us on the deadly days of summer and a lot of the deaths were do to speeding and drinking. Have fun earning those stripes back and having to make those bike payments while paying those fines. Idiots.

however, they need to get hammered. doing 140 mph , unles they were on a race track somewhere then I would say they are totaly irresponsible and do not deserve to hold the rank that they have anyways. As far as punishment goes, along with reduction in rank and fines etc. they need to each hold a big sign in front of the main gates that read "do not drive fast, speed kills" or something to that affect. I have no compassion for stupid people.
