WHY??????
The article however did not address the pressing question I had during the entire read.... what did he do about taking a leak? I guess some sort of truckers catheter, but still, inquiring minds want to know.

Good luck. You can do it. I did 1000 in 18 hours on the SPortster I used to have and I had to put oil in at every gas stop. It used about a quart every 500 miles.

+1 on that. I am afraid I might miss another "what oil do you use" thread, or maybe an in depth discussion on the merits of fingerless gloves and assless chaps!!

I ran into this guy at a rest stop in tenn. about 3 weeks ago
yes he is riding a bmw and yes those ore off road tires on the back seat.
when I ask about them he told me his story.
he wa only about an hour from home after a 11.000 mile trip over the last 5 1/2 weeks.
he needed the nobbies for the ride to the artic circle or at least the 400 miles of dirt and mud road said he kept them on till he got back to portland
oh ya by the way he was a year older than me he is only 68 said he would trade the bike in rather than try to clean it only has 17.000 on it now.. he also has a harley ..
